Tool Grant
Qualifications
Age Requirement
- Applicants must be between 16–19 years old.
Career Interest
- Must demonstrate serious interest in pursuing a career in the construction trades (e.g., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
- Educational/Training Status (choose one or both).
- Currently enrolled in a high school trade program, vocational school, technical college, or registered apprenticeship
- OR
- Accepted into or applying for a certified construction trade program or pre-apprenticeship.
Application Essay or Statement
Submit a brief statement (e.g., 250 words) about:
- Why you want to pursue a trade career
- How you plan to use the tool grant.
- Your future goals in the construction industry.
Reference or Recommendation
- One reference letter from a teacher, employer, mentor, or trade instructor (optional but adds credibility).
Financial Need Statement
- Briefly describe financial need or lack of access to tools/resources.
Tool List / Budget Plan
- Provide a basic list of tools you plan to purchase with the grant (can be general or specific).
Commitment Agreement
- Agree to use the grant solely for purchasing tools related to your construction trade career.
Residency Requirement
- Must reside in Idaho.
